“If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.”
1 Corinthians 3:17
Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
PSALM 84:10
“I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.”
Matthew 16:18
If we want to see revival in our world, or even our nation, it starts with God’s church – the Global Church. Even before COVID-19 and the closure of church buildings, there was an obvious attack from the enemy on the entity of the Church, … but if there’s anything that 2020 has shown us, it’s that a move of God cannot be bound by four walls or within a structure. This year has challenged God’s people to go back to the heart of what church should be: more than a one-hour service one day a week, but a body of believers who are committed to an everyday walk with God. God built His church upon a rock and no force can ever overturn it – not a pandemic, not a political leader, nor the media. As Christians, we get to be doorkeepers to the most sacred thing there is: God’s temple – both as individuals as well as a body of believers.
What can you do today to be a “doorkeeper”? What is something practical you can do to maintain the sanctity of God’s temple?
