Biblical Example: Joshua (Joshua 24)
Daily Prayer Focus: Unsaved Family
“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” – Joshua 24:15 (NIV)
We make decisions daily. Some are significant, and others? Not so much. For example, deciding on what to wear to work isn’t exactly the same as deciding on a career change. However, the greatest decision you could EVER make is to serve the Lord!
Joshua was a man who said to God, “Ok, I’m in”. He served God and led his family toward Him, regardless of what those around him were doing. Real leaders rule by example rather than by just bossing people around. Joshua had incredible influence because he made the unwavering decision to follow the Lord.
As you pray for your unsaved family members today, ask God how you can lead by example. Ask yourself, “If others follow my example, will they become more like Christ?” If the answer is “no,” or you’re unsure, then I challenge you to make some different decisions today as the Lord leads you.
