DAY 11 – Mark 4:38-40 (NLT)

Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”

Mark 4:38-40 (NLT)

When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

In this passage in Mark, the disciples woke Jesus up to get his attention in the midst of a storm. They were scared their boat may toss them overboard. Ever since COVID-19 has swept across the globe, it’s felt like we’re in the midst of a constant storm. We may even find ourselves asking Jesus the same question, “Don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” Of course, He cares. In the same way Jesus calmed the storm in an instant, He has control over this situation.

God is calling us to new levels of faith; new depths of trusting in Him as we continue to navigate through COVID-19. Let us invest time in praying for a cure, and asking God to use this season for His glory to shine through us.
