Ok, I’m In – Day 7 – Job 13

Day Seven – Written By Pastor Wayne Sidley

Biblical Example: Job (Job 13)

Prayer Focus: Your Longevity

What is your longevity of life?  … or better put, what’s your personal life expectancy?

Insurance Agents could make an educated guess with statistics and graphs.

Doctors could make assumptions based on their personal experience of their patients’ longevity of life.

The bottom line is: We do not know.

The character of Job paints such a true picture of what longevity looks like. Why? Because he served God faithfully despite the immense amount of pain and despair he went through. His longevity is something we should all aspire for.

In Job 14:5 (NLT) it says, “You (God) have decided the length of our lives. You know how many months we will live, and we are not given a minute longer.”

“You (God) watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,

as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.

You saw me before I was born.

Every day of my life was recorded in your book.

Every moment was laid out

before a single day had passed.” – Psalm 139:15-16

Statistically, the average age that men or women in America will live is about 80 years.  This average takes into account other circumstances in life, such as our health, but the truth is: we could live shorter or longer than 80 years old.

So don’t bank on it.

In Genesis 6:3 … God limited mankind’s span of life to no more than 120 years.

Ultimately, ONLY God knows the exact  day and hour in which He will call you home.  “Home” is Heaven, and we can only get there by FAITH, and confession in Jesus Christ. We must believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths  that His blood was shed for our sins, and that He died  on the cross, was buried in the tomb, and then three days later resurrected and ascended to Heaven to prepare a place for us.

What your longevity looks like:

  •     80 Years

… which is measured as any of the following:

  •     960 Months
  •     29,200 Days
  •     700,800 Hours
  •     420,430,000 Minutes
  •     2,522,580,000 Seconds

As we pray and fast throughout these 21 days, no matter how many MINUTES  or SECONDS you may have left in your life, you need to make them count.  Be a  witness of Jesus, share the Gospel ( Good News of Jesus Christ ), read the Word, and hear God speak to you in your heart.  Live a long life and serve Him with all your heart.

“Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.” – Exodus 20:12 (NLT)

Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything.” Proverbs 13:3 (NLT)

“My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying.” – Proverbs 3:1-2 (NLT)

Now, go and live a full and satisfying life as you continue following and serving Christ.
